Volunteers see a confirmation after a successful signup. The confirmation includes the event and slot they claimed plus an edit link they can save or open to change or cancel that signup later.
Immediate confirmations
The signup screen reports whether a confirmation email was sent. If email delivery does not complete at that moment, it still shows the edit link so the volunteer can save it. Do not rely on email delivery alone: spam filters, inbox rules, and network problems can affect whether someone sees a message.
For a normal signup, the emailed confirmation includes the private edit link. Volunteers do not need a Sign Up Queen account to use that link. The page can also remember the signup on that device. Hosts who need to correct a roster can add or remove a volunteer.
Automated reminders
Turn on Day-before reminder email in the sheet settings to send the included reminder automatically. It goes to volunteers with a signup and includes the details for their claimed slot. On a multi-day sheet, it is tied to each volunteer's scheduled day rather than one message for the whole range.

Pro hosts can choose one earlier reminder through the Early reminder control. The control offers 2, 3, 7, or 14 days before the event (or No early reminder). When an earlier reminder is selected, the standard day-before reminder still sends while reminders are enabled. The early and day-before messages are separate emails.
The sheet also has a separate New signup emails option for hosts. This sends the host an email after each new signup; it is not the volunteer's confirmation. A Morning-of roster email is available as a separate Pro option for a day's full roster. Review edit a published sheet before changing event details that volunteers need to know.
If you turn reminders off, new reminder emails stop; a volunteer's confirmation and private edit link still work. Closing or taking down a sheet also stops future signups and reminder emails.
