Print it, or share it, or both
The print version gives you ten write-in lines. Put it by the door, on a noticeboard, or at the desk where people walk past.
The same sheet also has a link. Paper catches the people in the room and the link catches everyone else, and both fill the same list.
Write a heading people can answer
Put the specific ask in the title. Bring a dessert for Friday is a question with an answer. Sign-up sheet is not.
Use the details line for the date, the place, and the deadline. On paper that line does the work your follow-up messages would otherwise do.
Type up what you collect
If you gather names on paper, add them to the sheet afterwards through the manage link. Then the count is right and nobody signs up twice.
Print it again once it is half full. Seeing other names already on a list is the most reliable way to get the rest.
Common questions
- How do I get a PDF of the sheet?
- Open the print version and choose Save as PDF in your browser's print dialog. There is nothing to install and no watermark on the result.
- Can I print a sheet that already has names on it?
- Yes. Filled spots print the name, and every spot still open prints a blank line, so the same page works as a record and as a sign-up sheet.
- Will it print on one page?
- A sheet with up to about twenty five lines fits one page in portrait. Past that it flows onto a second page and breaks between rows rather than through them. If you need one page exactly, reduce the number of slots or lower the scale in your print dialog.
